Mosaic Garden Slab Workshop upcoming ...

I will be running a series of mosaic garden slab workshops from my studio here in mid Herefordshire very soon.  I am asking for interested participants to contact me with suggestions for dates from end-February through to the summer 2017.
The workshop will be run over two full days with another half-day session a week later reserved for the "big reveal" when participants return to the studio for the slab to be turned out of its wooden setting frame ... there is a real air of excitement as the sand is brushed away and the mosaic is revealed in all its glory.
After learning the basic mosaic techniques on a beginners' mosaic course with Classical Mosaic, it is very rewarding to learn the skill of working mosaic in the "indirect" Roman method (laying the mosaic tesserae 'upside down').  The indirect method is used for mosaic garden slabs where a flat, smooth surface is best.  These cement backed slabs are ideal for laying in the garden, along paths and in small sections in driveways.  They will measure approximately 30cms. square.
