I'm so looking forward to our next mosaic workshop here at my studio near Hereford and welcoming the participants who have signed up for a weekend of creativity, fun and relaxation in learning about and exploring this ancient art form, mosaic.

We will spend the two days designing our mosaics on board, learning how to cut and shape the mosaic tiles, the tesserae, how to lay the tesserae using the Roman technique to form the "andamenti" of the mosaic, then grout and polish the masterpieces to take home.

It is always a real joy for me to share my passion for this magical art form and seeing my fellow artists' pleasure and satisfaction in their finished mosaic work.

Even more satisfying for me is when I discover my students have gone on to create and explore further the limitless possibilities of mosaic.
